I love iTunes, even on my PC's at work. But I have some stuff that is on Real, and I HATE realplayer. It is the worst program for audio I have ever used.
How do I convert my .rm's to .mp3's or .mp4's, or even .wav's or .aiff's? Currently I am starting to burn them all to CD and then rip them back in to iTunes.
the easiest way I know of- you can use a free program from the ?Ambrosia software? maybe- Iforget- anyway it's called WireTap, freeware util that simply takes any audio you have playing and captures it to an AIFF file.
I used to grab stuff from CBC FM 2 off and on, when they have had some neat content but only streamed in Windows MEdia format (or the new BBC HHGG radio series, stuff like that). Grab to AIFF, it's readily converted to CD or you can use Audacity (freeware audio tool) to make MP3s or whatever.
There are some adjustable parameters for quality of the capture- you'd better have a LOT of free HD space if you use the highest quality settings, AIFF is not a compressed format.
HTH. I used this tool a LOT at one point. Turn off your mouse clicks and email notification noises though :)

Sorry, these are both OS X tools; and I don't know of an equivalent for 9. You don't say which OS you're using.
And I went to Ambroisa, it's now WireTap "Pro" for $20, and they don't have the free one available for download anymore, although I'm sure it's on the web somewhere. I'm going to see what the new features are and likely buy it, it's been a great tool for me.
