Hi crew,

Anyone have experience working with Corel Graphics Suite apps, v10 or 11...?
What's your estimation of relative usability/productivity of CorelDRAW and/or PhotoPaint vis-a-vis Photoshop and Illustrator?

I'm looking for *inexpensive* options for unleashing my creative urges, preferably OS X compatible. I have Photoshop 4 and Illustrator 7 and haven't used them extensively enough to feel very attached to their interface conventions - and the cost for upgrades is too steep for my fixed income.

Since Corel has stopped producing Mac versions of their Graphics Suite apps it seems possible to get real bargains on bundles that include them. I'm not terribly concerned with lack of support or anything like that, just want to know if anyone considers them worthwhile apps for semi-serious creative work...and/or if the learning curve is too steep for Average Joe, etc.

Currently running Panther 10.3.7 on a much-upgraded B&W, hoping to move to Tiger on a Mini in the near future.

TIA for any advice/insights,
