Hi. My wife's friend is complaining about her PC supposedly getting a worm from our computer. She said she got a email from her ISP saying that the message gotten from us was blocked because it contained a possible worm.
You are safe. What has probably happened is that a mutual acquaintance has the worm. These worms will read someone's MS Outlook address book and grab an email address and use that as the sending address.
The only way for your wife to pass on a windows worm is to physically attach it to an email and send it to someone.
I have had numerous times that I get messages like that and I just ignore them. To give you an idea of what can happen, I recently got a bunch of unsubscribe confirmation requests from the pci list. Someone on the list had my email address in their outlook address book and had sent an unsubscribe address to the pci list. The worm picked my address from their address book and was sending out emails, some of which went to the unsubscribe address, which dutifully sent out a confirmation email to my address.
BTW, Did your wife actually send an email that did not get through?
FWIW, the last virus that I have had to deal with on a Mac was the WDEF virus on my Plus, which I got from a Mac in an Egghead store inside of a Staples when the salesman gave me some freeware. And Apple cured that vulnerability when they released system 7.
