It happened with both cables. I do agree with you that the problem is
somehow in the drive, but I don't understand why it would work
perfectly fine in a PC and not in a Mac. Strange no?
Jason, try erasing the drive choosing the zero all data option. I had an 80 Gb drive I tried to use on my B&W that had been previously formatted and used on a PC and it caused all kinds of problems for me. Once you have the data completely zeroed out, then reinstall the OS and see if it works better for you.
