There were two models of the 2930, one was supported bootable drives in Macs and the other in Intel PCs. I've been using them in Macs for for more than five years. Hopefully, you bought the right version. As for the 2906, it lacks a boot ROM* and will work in either a Mac or Intel PC.

Any Adaptec SCSI card that will work in your Mac has built-in support in OS X.

*This means you cannot use a drive attached to a 2906 as a start-up disk.

I also have a Blue & White (only 300 tho). I just got a 2930cu scsi card
from Fleabay for dirt cheap (should be coming soon). I researched it and
Adaptec says it's only good for Windows. The only scsi card for Mac is the
2906. Wondering if i can use the software for the 2906 for the 2930. Or will
it just work when I plug it in?
