Well, it doesnt work for me on a beige running OS 9.1 and IE 5. Maybe I need an update. Mozilla is over 14MB. Thats about an hour and 20min for me to download it. Possible with planning.
PP,
Planning is a good thing, alright.
Why do you think you need Mozilla? I.E. 5.1.7 seems to be the most well developed, least ungainly, browser for MacOS 9.x, and of course there are some great alternatives for MacOSX.
So far you have kept life simple, and inexpensive, by using 9.1 and IE 5, so why not continue in that vein? Work on making your system and your browser the best they can be, with clean, refined installations of the most current versions of both OS9.x and IE.
Computers are cheap. So is software. There is a better way than you are going now -- eBay, swap, etc. -- not to mention reading TFM, and using advice from folks here who have already solved the problems you are concerned about.
I have done successfully what I am recommending to you with more than a dozen old, very old, and brand new Macs in the last few months (including a beige G3/266 MT), and it has worked well. Others here probably have even better suggestions.
Good luck.
Jack
