It may tell you right there or give you a product id that would let you check on the web. As others have responded. 2.1 doesn't work in pre X operating systems; nno drivers are available. As far as I know and have experienced, it doesn't work properly on a Beige in X either. It is true that usb 2 cards are backwards compatible and will work in pre X operating systems as usb 1 no matter what you plug into it. However, if you have a usb 2 gadget plugged into the usb 2 port while running X on a Beige, you might have problems.
