Exactly my point Larry, the latest 'Steve Jobs keynote presentation'
version of System profiler seems to identify the chip manufacturer.
But how?

In Steve Jobs keynote the System Profiler actually says 'Intel
Pentium 4 3.6 GHz'.
1. We were talking about identifying a PPC chip's manufacturer,
i.e. IBM or Motorola.
2. A Pentium chip is Intel. Pentium is a brand name owned by Intel.
