Exactly my point Larry, the latest 'Steve Jobs keynote presentation'
version of System profiler seems to identify the chip manufacturer. But
how?
There must be so much info to hand for the OS, so displaying
it shouldn't be a problem.
Don't forget the Intel chip all have serial numbers and they
can be read by the OS (I hasten to add that I don't know
exactly how), but I know there are ways in which a Windows
installation can be tied to a specific machine, some how...
