I bought the G4/550 FastMac upgrade for a slot-loading iMac several
months ago. I had to send them the logic board, which they then
upgraded with a new G4 cpu soldered in place of the G3. I couldn't
tell it had been done, so they've got a professional operation. And
I've had zero problems since installation, so their product is good.

Overall, my dealings with FastMac made for a pleasant, fast and
trouble-free experience. One exception: I dealt with them via phone as
their online purchasing software was a bit wonky at the time.

Hope this helps.
