Classic is OS 9 run from within OS 10.x > > I thought you could put the lot on one HD whether or not you > want to boot into either X or 9 (it says so in a Users manual I > have on a slightly later QS than mine). As it happens, yes, I > greatly want to boot into 9 and it suits me fine to partition > and have 9 on a separate volume. Putting OS 9 on at least a separate partition is probably a good idea although my previous powerbook had everything on one partition for three years. The new Powerbook does not even have it installed (classic). > > Anyway, my problem is that when I boot from the CD, the HD does > not mount and I wondering if there is some firmware issue i need > to address and how exactly to do this. Anyone know about this Check the Apple site for firmware updates. You could also have a problem with the jumper on one or both drives. How large are they anyway? One more thing. I have found OS 9 needs to be installed first and then OS 10 when using the same partition. If you do OS 10 first, 9 thinks it has already been installed. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
