Cliff, I am using Tiger on my iMac G5, with my old Epson SC800, and
it works fine with Tiger/Gimp- Tiger found & recognized the printer
as soon as I connected & added it. As to the 3/1, can't offer any
suggestions, other than to say that my Agfa Scanwise e40 works better
with VueScan than it did with the OS X version of Scanwise... maybe
you'll have to use 2 pieces of software to run the scanner portion?
YMMV,
Pete
Pete,
Thanks for your response.
I see that I have the Epson Twain driver installed so the fact that I
cannot download
it isn't really the problem.
Tiger found my printer right away too, but often loses it somehow and
I have to restart.
The main problem is that Photoshop 9 doesn't recognize Twain. So
maybe this is a Photoshop issue
that I have to look into.
Can you elaborate on VueScan and OS x version of Scanwise.?
I'm waiting to hear from Epson.
Thanks again.
Cliff

Running MacMini with Tiger 500 MB RAM
I'm having difficulty getting a consistent connection

I must start and restart either the printer or computer to get a
connection.
I can scan in Classic but Tiger recognizes no Twain.
Attempts to download from the Epson sight
"TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility v2.65A"
(which claims 10.3.x compatibility consistently fail.
It's a whopping 40.5 MB file that always stalls at 33.5
reporting "POSIX error connection reset by peer"
(whatever that means?)
Shared Epson experiences.
Solution suggestion,
and proven Mac Tiger compatible printer recommendations
are appreciated
