Does anyone here have a Qwest DSL modem? It seems that just about

it for a

Not to defend the phone company, I hate them all :) but:
Is there a lot of activity (network building) going on in your area?
Your area new to DSL buildout perhaps?
If they are working on the subnets a lot, could be that you need to
reset as they've put you on a new subnet, and the modem needs a restart.
Not polite of them to not tell you, but I'll bet dollars to doughnuts
that if you look at their troubleshooting steps, cold reset of the
modem is just about #1.
If your IP address changes each time the modem "goes down" and then
you reset it, that's a dead giveaway.
Once they finish working on your area, things could calm down.
