This is spoken by a person, who I suspect has a lot younger eyes than I
have ( mine are age 66 ), so the 20 inch monitor with excellent
resolution and a big screen for zoom, was about 80% of my reason to
purchase the G5 with 20 inch monitor. The G5 iMac has added owner
authorized ability to open and work on it, which is much improved over
the G4 iMacs. The G4 iMacs I saw were only slightly cheaper than the
refurbished G5 iMacs on the Apple site. I would surely want an Apple
Care Agreement on whatever I got so if it self-destructs, I don't have
to worry. :-)
Just my opinion.

and there's no need to go for the 20" model if you do decide to go
that route - that's pure overkill. Be aware that Apple may not yet
have resolved heat dissipation issues in the iMac G5; units are still
returning to Apple for repair at an alarming rate.
