The stock speed of the mac edition Radeon 8500 is 275/250 core and
memory whilst the stock speed of the PC version is 275/275 and will easily
take 300/300. There are, however, slower versions of the card around -
usually denoted by an LE or other qualifier which signify that they are a
cheaper version of the card. Not only with possibly slower ram but also
lacking combined dvi and vga output via the dvi port - the vga is missing
and this results in the ghost monitor effect on a mac.
PC versions of the full blown 8500 or the lesser versions are easily
converted to mac with flashing on a pc - may be difficult to flash on a mac.
