Well, using a Mac on your TV is just like using it with a monitor.  You 
can have it setup so DVD Player automatically launches when you insert a 
DVD, or iTunes automatically launches when you insert a music CD.  And 
Im sure you can buy a remote that communicates to a USB antenna.  Also 
you can change the size of your icons system wide, so that they look 
best on the TV.  You can also gain additional menus with 3rd party 
programs which Im sure some are free, which you can add whatever files 
and folders you like.
    As far as a connection, if you have a video card with S Vido out you 
could use that (youd need an inexpensive adaptor if your TV only has RCA 
connections).  Or, if you have a video card with dual VGA outputs or a 
VGA and ADC or DVI, you could adapt any of those to work with the TV.  I 
believe those adaptors are more expensive though (probably less than $20).
