To give you an idea of what you can do, here is my Beige G3s MT current
set up

ATA channel 1 has a 40GB ata drive partitioned into an 8G main with
system and most apps and 32G for storing documents and stuff. This is
in the bay above the HD. I could pull the floppy and put a HD in it's
place, but I would need to get a extra long ata cable to reach.

ATA channel 2 has a DVD/CDRW combo drive as master and a CD as slave.

The onboard SCSI has a 9G SCA SCSI drive with 5 partitions, a holdover
from my 6100. These hold various apps, system 9 and other stuff (a
virtual pc and Be os partitions that are not used except for storage).

My beige's other specs are a 533 G4, 576MB ram, generic USB card and a
flashed Radeon 7000 with a rev 2 rom. Running 10.2.8 with the hack to
enable Quartz Extreme.

HTH,
Len

Which bay holds the SCA drive? I hear they tend to run hot. The 1 over the
power supply is usually cited as the default place they put the "main"
drive in a G3 MT. Seems a counter-intuitive place, as far as cooling goes,
to me. Is it better than in the "stack" of 5.25"-capable slots in front,
to put 1 of those hotties?
