<< Here's an odd problem. I've set up my Molar as my OS X box, running the last version of Panther. Very nicely except for this problem. Off of the SCSI in back, I've hooked up an Astra 610S scanner, two external hard drives, and a Zip drive that terminates the chain.
The two external hard drives show up and are usable on the desktop. Insert a Zip disk, it too shows up fine is OS X. But so far with the Astra, nothing. And I check the System Profiler, and NOTHING SHOWS UP in SCSI. Click the SCSI option, and it tells me "No information found." Any ideas? Anyone experience something like this? timo >> I had an issue with a Umax SCSI scanner (an S-6E) on a beige G3 under Jaguar recently. When it was turned on, the hard drive on the chain could not be recognized, 1st under X, then eventually under 9. The scanner drivers stopped working after a while, too. Changing termination & IDs didn't eem to help. Turned out to be a bad external cable. (The 1 that had come with the scanner, that I had used for years. Must have just worn out somehow.) __ Bill Art page: <http://geocities.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/> -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
