Len,
A couple questions:
1. Is your D-Link router a regular ethernet router or a wireless router?
2. How does one check the log of the D-Link router? I am using a
D-Link router but am not aware of how to determine the status of
attempts, or of what software one does this with? Is this software
running all the time?
Thank you,
Don

FWIW, I just checked the log of my dlink router and stopped counting
at 200 Unrecognized accesses from just the past 18 hours. Most IP
addresses tried to access 2 ports.
Most of the accesses were probing the following ports:
80
1026
1027
8080
Other ports tried were:
143
4899
1433
1434
54857
22
1025
4257
33436
33437
1030
1031
1032
48654
3128
6588
25
7212
4073
4081
and, of course, the router did it's job of blocking all those attempts.
