In a message Virginia S Moe <[EMAIL PROTECTED]: << Justin and Bruce please drop this off topic argument. It's obvious that you each have your own opinion and are not going to change, and so do many of us. This fight is not adding to our knowledge of G-machines. You are making some of us uncomfortable. Please just don't write anymore about it.>> ------------ Really sorry about your discomfort. No sarcasm, I truly mean that.
I actually found this discussion very interesting. Bruce and Justin have reinforced my experiences that malicious software cannot destroy the hardware in our beloved G-Mac's. In a worse case maybe we will need to reformat a hard drive and lose the data we have not backed up. And Justin's reference to firmware was something I had not thought about. Good to know. Although I don't know if that dire consequence could actually apply to our G-Mac and the devices attached: again fixable with the proper firmware patch. This discussion is very comforting to me. I'm not interested in opinions -- just the facts. So far in this discussion no one has found that bad software and/or a virus has permanently destroyed hardware in a controlled environment. And to me that's what counts. Regards --glen (digest mode) -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
