Then I followed your link and downloaded "eject key" from the Griffin site, but when I tried to open it with Stuffit in OS-9 (Stuffit 7) I got the message "Expander requires CarbonLib 1.6.0 or later." I don't know what a CarbonLib is, so that's out. I went back into OS-X and tried to fire up Stuffit 9 that I found in the Applications folder, but double-clicking on the app's icon does absolutely nothing; it won't launch. I tried dropping the .sit on the DropStuff icon but that does nothing either. So, I can't unstuff the .sit to get the "eject key" out in either OS. Seems like something or somebody doesn't want me to be able to open that DVD drawer in 9. But thanks for trying to help me. >> Tom, 1. iTunes for OS9 (ver 2.0.4) is available on Apple site. 2. CarbonLib is an extension. 1.6 update is on Apple site. Should also show up if you run software update booted in OS9. The problem is you can't use Stuffit 7 to open anything so you need to drop back to Stuffit 5 or 6 til you do the CarbonLib 1.6 update. 3. iirc a restart with the mouse held down will open the tray.
