a pinch, but it is a real pain, so I don't want to have to go through
it again.
Since the Intel iBooks are not a reality now, why can't they just
transfer
your HD to the new non-Intel iBook Apple will replace yours with and
you
should be good to go?
What kind of Ibook do you have that is causing this much of a
problem, as I
have a G3 600, G4 1Ghz and have never had any issues with either of
them?

Currently there are no intel iBooks, but what worries me is the rumors
that they are coming very very soon. I'd like a dual core yonah
processor, but it's just not feasible for me right now, and so
therefore, I'm hoping that the new intel iBooks do not come out soon,
or that my little screen problem balloons out prior to their arrival.
I have a 1.2 GHz G4 iBook, 14" model. I think I just got some bad
luck, as everyone I've talked to has no idea how I could have caused
this issue. In other words, I believe I got a lemon, and that
problems like mine are very rare in the iBooks. Why else would I want
to replace this one with another just like it? :-)
Brian
I don't understand the aversion to getting a new laptop. It's quite
easy to load your data onto a new unit. If they're willing to give you
one, take it and enjoy it. Don't worry about what's coming next week,
for you won't upgrade your iBook next week. If you decide to upgrade
soon, your newer replacement would be worth more than your current one
anyway.
