I was afraid I would come across a post like yours. Exactly how
common is this problem? what causes it? What is it about the newer
iBooks that gets them away from these problems? Any particular
reason this iBook has had to have its screen replaced so many times,
along with nearly all of the parts inside of it?

I have a 1.2 GHz G4 iBook, 14" model. I think I just got some bad
luck, as everyone I've talked to has no idea how I could have
caused this issue. In other words, I believe I got a lemon, and
that problems like mine are very rare in the iBooks. Why else
would I want to replace this one with another just like it? :-)
