When I got my first Mac, the first Fat Mac that reached Venezuela in
December of 1984 (right?), I was baffled at the lack of excitement the
mouse and the font capabilities (to mention just two) caused in my
C:\colleagues.
When The Switcher came out, I was once again amazed by the "I see" attitude
of my colleagues.
When Excel was introduced, and my printouts looked great and theirs were
crappy, it raised some interest, but then they would say "it is not
compatible".
What angered me more at the time is when MS copied all that for Windows
(with Apple's blessing) and they would all go gaga over those features.
What Apple didn't see time and time again, is that they'd be more
successful selling OSs and software and not the hardware. I wonder if MS
foresaw that or simply had no choice.
Some think that had it not been for PageMaker and the LaserWriter, the Mac
would have failed and maybe they'd gone the software-for-generic-hardware
route. That would have been interesting.

a small market share would soon be going belly-up (they were telling me
