I may get a good deal on a lamp style g4 700 mhz imac. Would it be a
BIG improvement over my g3 600mhz imac?
Is that a good choice of imac?
Personally, I don't like the "lamp style" iMacs. The goose necks
break too easily and I don't feel the LCD screens are as sharp as the
old CRTs.
The processor speed and its generation (g3 to g4) will be noticable,
but I don't know that it will really be a spectacular difference
unless you use an altavec optimized app, such as Photoshop. G4 = G3
scalar core plus the Altavec vector/floating point engine.
FWIW,
- Dan.
