Hello. I was wondering what others are using instead of the Dock. I just cannot seem to get used to not being able to see what programs are active in the finder, even though I've been using OS X since it's beginning off and on but I got away from it till I got a new G4 sawtooth, as it was entirely too slow in my Beige G3 466. Despite the fairly consistent criticism, the Dock does not appear to be going away. Some other programs relied on the "favorites" folder which no longer is anywhere in 10.4.
The Dock does show you what programs are active so you'll have to re-phrase that.
