I have one of these very printers sitting under my desk. It is very
cheap to run and produces far better quality output for text and
graphics than my photo inkjet (also an HP - a Deskjet 5740). A little
noisy, but It's amazing that even at a paltry 600dpi, these printers
severely embarrass inkjets at 2400-4800. With that said, I use the
inkjet for photo printing because the output from a laser printer is
not very compatible with the shiny surface of photo paper (to say the
least), it can't print borderless and the inkjet has far superior
colour accuracy.
It's worth noting that the toner cartridges HP include with these
models are so-called 'trial' cartridges with about a third the
capacity of retail toners. They are pricey to replace but last for
thousands of pages, making the cost per page much lower than anything
else.

Anyone have any experiences to share concerning this printer? I've
always wanted a color laser but they have been too expensive. I
see this one on sale for about $300 now. Plus I'm concerned about
the quality versus an ink jet model. TIA
