With a SCSI card, yes.
Some configurations included an Apple-branded Adaptec Power Domain
2930 Ultra SCSI card. Other 3rd party cards work, but can be
problematic in Tiger due to bad Apple-supplied drives. SCSI, in
general, on OS X is s*l*o*w. Apple *really* wants you to go IDE,
firewire, and SATA.

Only from the inside.
+/- a long cable. :)
Firewire works.
Ya. An IDE->Firewire box is the best option. They're fairly inexpensive too.

total internal drives can be used inside?
Probably up to four, using the Revision two cage and the stock platform
underneath the PS...
Five with a long cable and tape - on top of the DVD box.
Six if you no gots a ZIP drive.
It gets pretty warm in the box with the standard four drives tho.

Just get a Revision 2. No IDE issues with it. Going to be upgrading mine
to a Rev. 2 soon...
Gotta 2nd that. Get a rev 2. Rev 1 == PITA.
