It's been set to never sleep the system.

After further research, this <http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/ index.php/t-126074.html> has emerged as a possibility, though this was *supposed* to have been fixed by the RevB models; this is a brand new dual-core system.

It's odd. We're going to keep an eye on it, it might also have been his UPS, but APC's don't make a noise like that.
