Hmmm, well, the OS 10.2.8 that I installed on this G3/300 came in a CD.
You just insert the CD in the drive and restart the computer. Follow
the directions from there.

I don't know how you "put it on the hard drive" any other way. How did
you get it there?

You shouldn't need XPostFacto with a G3/300 (Beige desktop or Minitower?).
