I run a Rev. A ROM in my Rev. 3C machine because I don't use EIDE drives (excepting the DVD-ROM-R-R/W drive, which is mainly used as a CD-R writer, anyway), and the Rev. C ROM is known to have issues. Anyway, you can mix and match Beige G3 motherboards and ROMs, but the main difference is Slave support in Revs. B and C, and supposedly better ATI video chip support in Rev.
