I have a DA 533 with a QS 933 processor that I am getting ready to make the jump to 10.4 on, currently running 10.3.9. While I do have a hacked G5s Radeon 9600 so I can run Core image, I am concerned about the possible performance hit without the L3 cache. Len --- end of quote --- I don't know Len. haven't heard it so. I sort of think you might have heard since I got the idea from you. My guess is that you'll be fine, especially if you haven't had to use anything to enable the L3 so far. (Is that right?) I've only heard the problem with the dual 800. I think I know of three of us now. Anyway, I'm running that hacked 9600 with the dual 800, no L3 and the image is great. My standard in X-Plane, the flight sim developed on a Mac, which will suck up anything you can offer in terms of video and beg for more. Before I had the adapter for a second monitor on that 9600, I ran my second monitor on a Rage 128 pci board so the core video didn't work, though Quartz extreme did. As soon as that pci board was history, the display took a quantum leap. Stunning. I think you'll be happy with it L3 or no. Please let me know if you get the L3. Or if not, whether any of the enablers work for you. Rich -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
