Stephen,
In the 1994 BAR article I cited in the blog post, Strugnell said that
he was saving the story of the ladies-of-uncertain-profession and the
Enoch microfilm for his memoirs . But I've heard nothing more than
that and I don't know whether he actually intends to write them. I
hope so.
Jim
In an aside to a message on the Coptic Gospel of Judas, James Davila at
http://paleojudaica.blogspot.com
wrote "...that's not as strange as the story about the prostitute (two
prostitutes?) who showed John Strugnell a microfilm of a (Qumran?) Enochic
manuscript, which microfilm she had hidden in an even more unusual place.
Strugnell did verify that something like this actually happened, but he seems
to be saving the details for his memoirs."
And I see that the latest issue of DSD (v.13 n.1, 2006) is dedicated to John
Strugnell, belated marking of his 75th birthday.
So I ask, Jim or anyone, is he writing memoirs? I hope so--I'd buy a copy.
best,
Stephen Goranson
