Howdy, I think we have the same understanding, then. If you boot the system with an unpatched firmware, any partitions that cross that boundary could be corrupted if you write to them. If you are careful though and have reasons to partition that way, I think you'll be OK. For a user who is not advanced, I would recommend a partition just as you suggest. Exactly 128 GB. I see you are saying the original partition could also be corrupted. That would be an interesting test I'll have to try. It may be a while, but I'll report back. I don't have any spare drives large enough at present. Only the controller could negotiate. But, it is part of the drive. This whole hack is pretty interesting.
