Actually. I don''t think always doing this at Startup would work ... As soon as the machine is turned on, I think the Firmware is active ... and negotiating disks, sizes, partitions, etc. has begun. Its too late to set that parameter. Experts out there? I believe my Trio ATA/FW/USB PCI card does this negotiating thing, too.
