I'll disagree on that.  I'm running Leopard on a 450mhz single
processor Sawtooth now with 1 gb RAM but for over a year with only 512
mb RAM.  It's definitely slow but it is useable.  I installed it on an
external hard drive attached to a iBook G4 and then just moed it and
connected it to my Sawtooth.  Very easy and the external hard drive is
faster than the slow internal drive.

I find the speed loss compared to Tiger worth the benefit of learning
Leopard amd maintaing only 1 OS on all my Macs..  Of course YMMV.  Its
definttely not as snappy as my MacBook Pro but still very useable for
me.
