When I use Tex-Edit Plus (not to be confused with TextEdit), iText 3.1.7E (Freeware at Versiontracker.com) or Microsoft Excel I am able to just open the folder that I want the file names for and select all (command-a) and copy the files (command-c) then move over to one of the above applications and do a paste command (command-p). If you want the names of the files in deeper folders you need to click the triangle to open the folder before you do the select all and copy. I mostly use this to catalog my CD's and DVD's in Microsoft Excel. It only copies the names of the files, not the date or file size. You will have to use Terminal as suggested by another on this list if you want file sizes and dates.
Hope this helps. On Dec 15, 4:41 pm, joe <[email protected]> wrote: > I've got a G4 Sawtooth running 10.4.11 > > Is there a way to copy the filenames in a given directory?
