Have you tried System Profiler in OS 9, don't remember if is shows the L2 
cache? The old  (free) XLR8 and PowerLogix OS 9 Control Panels will also show 
if L2 is enabled.

And there is Tattletech  2.84 which is now a free download.

Regarding the L2 cache enabler, I have found the old PowerLogix CPU Director 
version 1.5f6 had solved a lot of problems with my older unsupported Mac's. It 
works in OS 9 and OS X at least up to 10.3.9.

CPU Director 1.5f6 may be hard t find. I can send it to you if needed. --glen
