On Mac's much older than your MDD I sometimes have to unplug and replug the
FireWire cable to the FW port on the drive to get the drive to mount. Perhaps a
bad connection or some other fault with the FW port or cable.
However if you are not comfortable with the procedure, then don't do it. Maybe
there is another solution. ---glen
