Have you tried using an "Eject" button in the Menu Bar? To do this navigate to ~HD>System>Library>CoreServices>Menu Extras and double- click the Eject.menu icon. You should then have an Eject icon in your Menu Bar, it's a upward facing triangle that's underlined. If you don't want it any longer you can hold the Command key and drag it off the Menu Bar and it will "poof" and disappear. You can also rearrange any Menu Bar icons by holding the Command key and dragging them into a new position within the bar. If the "Eject" button won't work, suspect this is a firmware issue, but there is scant info on this model available. To flash the firmware you'd need a Windows PC. It's likely this HP 940d is actually a LiteOn drive, so you'd probably want to try and identify which model of LiteOn drive it is and then crossflash it over to the final LiteOn firmware. This sounds like too much hassle to me, I'd likely buy a new drive rather than figure this one out, although I do enjoy a good puzzle. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
