I'm pretty sure Jobs wont retire soon unless his health deteriorates, because he has a vision of what Apple is and loves what he does. But this puts idea into peoples' heads that eventually he is not going to be there and that Apple will have to persist without him at some point which is good for Apple. Not disagreeing with anything that has been said.
