OS 9.2.2 will kill off the input/output function of the Wings
Personality card. You must use two specific extensions from OS 9.1 or
earlier to enable the Wings AV functions. Here is a copied post from
years ago on this subject:

You must have a monitor or adapter attached to the onboard video. This
monitor should be shown and recognized in the Monitors Control Panel.
You should have the optional 4 MB add-on VRAM chip, this may not be a
requirement, but the VRAM is split between the AV out and the onboard
monitor.

The two critical extensions that you MUST have are called:

ATI Graphics Accelerator v. 5.2.4
ATI Resource Manager v. 2.7.3

These are part of OS 9.1 and newer 9.2.x versions WILL NOT WORK.
Older OS 8.x version MAY work?

You can update your 9.0 to OS 9.1, and then onward to 9.2.1 & 9.2.2
using updates here:
<http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75288>

You'll need to move and keep these two critical updates and replace
them after upgrading to 9.2.2.

Other ATI Extensions that I have on my G3's with Wings AV cards are:

 From OS 9.2.1:
ATI 3D Accelerator v. 5.0.4
ATI MMP Manager v. 1.2

 From OS 9.2.2:
ATI Driver Update v. 2.0.4

 From ATI Radeon Extensions for OS 9:
ATI 8500 3D Accelerator v. 7.0.9
ATI Displays v. 3.2
ATI Extension v. 2.8.7
ATI Monitor v. 3.2.1
ATI Radeon 3D Accelerator v. 6.4.7
ATI Rage 128 3D Accelerator v. 6.4.7
ATI ROM Xtender v. 1.1.7
ATI Video Accelerator v. 4.8.7

THIS LAST ONE, "ATI Video Accelerator" MAY BE REQUIRED for Apple Video
Player to work?
You version of Apple Video Player should be v. 1.7.3 which is
available from versiontracker.com.

Also, "HackTV Carbon" should work in both OS 9 and OS X.

BTV & BTV Pro are both much better than Apple Video Player.
