A processor upgrade for a MDD will cost more than a DP 1.8 G5; the bus
speed on the G5 is about 5x faster and you can put 4GB RAM (or 8 GB on
the PCI-X model). You'll see a big difference in music/video editing.
You might also want to check the specs on new releases of the
software. Apple is aiming new apps toward Intel-based dual processors.
I'm not a big fan of the Mac mini but you can get a dual 1.8 GHz Intel
Mini for about the same price of a Sonnet dual 1.8 GHZ upgrade for
your MDD.
