Tom -

Thanks for all your advice. I've researched a bit more, and wonder
how you and the list would compare an iMac (core dual Or core 2) to
the G5 models? I think I can spend around $1,000 or so, knowing that
I may want to upgrade again in a couple years. I see some used iMacs
on our local Craig's list in the price range or $650 - $950, some with
Final cut and other software bundled in. Is there a possible downside
to having the monitor and computer all in one, other than a possible
limit on upgrades? (for example ... if the monitor fails)

Thanks for your thoughts,
Mira
