Mel solution with australian tea tree oil in it -- Home Hardware's Natura spray cleaner -- and discovered that the day old coffee stain wasn't the only thing it wiped from the desk. The set-in ink stain disappeared too. <<http://www.homehardware.ca/Products/index/show/product/I4580929/name/cleaner_a_p_natura_650ml>http://www.homehardware.ca/Products/index/show/product/I4580929/name/cleaner_a_p_natura_650ml> I'm sure the reason the cleaner works is because of the main ingredient, australian tee tree oil, so I'd imagine similar products are being sold in the US. (I've also found it works great on shower enclosures and glass, lime scale and removing coffee stains from a rug. It 'almost' removed black marker and probably will next time around or if I can find someone who hasn't torn both rotator cuffs to do the scrubbing.) My sister's friend turned me on to it because the strokes have lessened my strength and I needed a stronger cleaner.
