This SerialNumber ALWAYS has 11 characters, like fe CK745121AEJ (My old Kanga, haha! But useable to try out the link below.). Normally it's found on a sticker with barcodes on the back of the Mac. Finding a number like this, goto: <http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html> and enter your SN. Page is in English also. > and the bottom has: serial number: A1047 EMC #2061 So this will not be a SerialNumber like you'll need. Have a futher search (see above). > I'd appreciate any suggestions as to what parts I need to get or where I can > find the specs. Well, I would say: 1) Start with the SN. The cheapest and easiest way to find out what you have in hands. 2) Then follow Bruce Johnson's advice and instructions in his reply. 3) Download with your MDD a manual for this Mac (UserManuals free from Apple or ask on list for any). 4) Make your decisions or in case of doubt put it on list. > If it is a waste of my time I'd appreciate that info too. IMHO: Finding out before deciding is never a waste of time.
