Thanks Bruce - my thought too.  Too bad its not my computer or I
definitely would put 10.5 on it, upgrade the RAM and just run it as a
toteable computer. Of course I have a family pack with one more
license so it would be free for me.

 I'm just wondering if my friend and his family would be better off
learning 10.4 or 10.5 on this older hardware for their first Mac
experience.   As for putting OS 9.2.2 on it or classic why would I
want to confuse them even more with obsolete technology they never
have seen or used.   I do not plan on being long-term tech support for
them and our local user groups have basically abandoned OS 9.x.x in
favor of 10.x.
