I second the response!  I tried many times to get my G5 to operate  once I 
upgraded the RAM...gave up...took it in to the local Apple Store and they  
had a bad time with it as well and started talking overhaul!
 
It was then given back to a new tech who happened to be working  the 
counter that day, who, luckily figured it all out....when she tried  
reinstalling 
the RAM in one last set of combinations.
 
To their credit, they were all very patient and dedicated almost 2 hours  
(posted sign said 15 minutes!) to my machine.
