Maybe the new ram is out of spec? Even if it is not the ram, more likely it is a peripheral or component, so I will second the recommendation that you start disconnecting and pulling out components/substituting, one by one. It may be your keyboard, or some wireless/bluetooth device. You get power and the machine chimes, so power supply and motherboard seem fine. If it is your motherboard, there's not much you can do about it. Start with the cheap and more likely problem solving.
