On laptop reliability! My brother in law is French and works in France in a company which works in city planning. They only use macs and he currently runs a 2004 ibook 1,3Ghz G4 running Mac OS 10.4.11 with 768mb RAM. Never had any problem with it and the other ibooks of that vintage still work fine. However, he told me their first batch of Intel ibooks they bought was very unreliable and prone to all kind of problems. As his ibook is doing fine and he doesn't need to upgrade he plans to keep it for the foreseeable future.
The computers has a fair number of scrathes,but the case is in good condition. No cracks or case problems. Is. Bit sluggish compared with my 2008 Pro but still runs Office 2004 reliably.
